Dallas Love Field Pilots Association is dedicated in making sure General Aviation has a voice.
Dallas Love Field Pilots Association has assembed a general aviation landing fee task force with the hopes of becoming engaged in the process of setting fees at Dallas Love Field (DAL) in Texas. That group, the Love Field Pilots Association, asked the city to confirm it would hold off on the planned landing fees at the airport until the task force has the opportunity to provide consultation.
The city of Dallas in late April authorized the assessment of general aviation landing fees at DAL, citing a need to raise additional funds for maintenance of the airfield, as well as a need for general aviation to "pay its fair share." As originally conceived, the initial fees could go into effect at the beginning of July at a rate of $5.80 per 1,000 pounds, more than twice the $2.20 rate paid by airliners. These fees would be in addition to fuel taxes.
Members have questions, we have answers.
1. How much is the Landing fees at Dallas Love Field for GA?
A: Proposed $5.80 / 1000 lbs landing weight. LFPA is addressing this issue to make it fair and equitable for all. The new proposed rate is $3.70/ 1000 lbs landing weight to begin October 1st, 2018
The General aviation community once again contacted Congress in record numbers to let elected officials know that any attempt by the big airlines to gain control of our nation’s air traffic control (ATC) system is simply unacceptable. Those efforts were successful and a dangerous amendment to the House FAA reauthorization bill that would have created an airline-dominated board to oversee the ATC system was removed. In addition, airline supported provisions to move the ATC system out of FAA to the Department of Transportation were also removed from the bill.
While the FAA bill going to the House floor this week is not perfect, we want to see it passed, as a long-term reauthorization is critical to advancing our shared priorities. Now we have a bipartisan bill that will modernize, not privatize ATC, and we are grateful for the hard work of members of Congress, and their willingness to listen to constituent concerns.
We will deliver to the U.S. House and Senate based on your street address.
We are dedicated to Dallas Love field General Aviation and we share and collaborate information from ATC, Landing Fees, Customs, Operations, Constructions, NOTAMS and anything that effects GA operations at Love Field.
